Todd E. Abernathy, 31, died Tuesday Aug 8 in his home at 3435 Chaucer Drive. Born Nov 6, 1963, in Crawfordsville he came to Lafayette from Crawfordsville 14 years ago. He was a 1982 graduate of South Montgomery HS. Mr. Abernathy was a heating and air conditioning technician. He first worked for Craft Mechanical in Lafayette then was self-emplolyed for several years. He recently rejoined the staff of Craft Mechanical. He was a member of Local 157 and he enjoyed fishing, Spring and NASCAR racing. He married Heidi L. Ploss on April 22 in Townsend, Tenn. She survives. Also surviving are his stepfather and mother, Kenneth and Susan Flick of Crawfordsville and a brother, Rodney Abernathy of Covington. kbz

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Service in Hippensteel Chapel, 1 p.m. Friday. Interment Mount Hoipe Cemetery, Covington. Surviving his grandfather, Lloyd Abernathy, Sr, a niece, Jessica Abernathy. Preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Abernathy, Jr in 1976, a sister, Sheila Abernathy in 1967 and his grandmother, Martha Abernathy.
